New shop, new calendars
We hope to make this newsletter more of a regular thing.
What a week/month/year it’s been. Hi! It’s been far too long. Anyway, we hope to make this newsletter more of a regular thing!
And by we, I mean my wife Kristen and I. We’ve collaborated on a number of artworks in the past, and now we’ve put all our art under one roof, in a new online shop at johnsart.ca. Super excited by this for a number of reasons, like how we can better showcase everything that’s happening in our crazy household.
New calendars for 2025
We have both created new calendars, in a bigger size (9x12 inches) than previous ones. Also, I’m super excited by the coil binding plus hanger feature. When I found a printer who could do this I got giddy!
New work
Kristen has been prolific, creating a continuous output of original art this year, including these stunning graphite works on paper exploring some of her favourite subjects grown in her garden, peonies and tomatoes.
Peony, 9x12 inches; Tomatoes & Oregano, 9x12 inches.
My work has been mostly in notebooks (working stuff out) but I did create a few new pieces to include in my new calendar. Absurd times call for absurd art. Then again, there’s often something absurd about the ‘times’, so… onward we go. Here’s one that’s available:
The proper way to wear scissors, 8x10 inches.
We hope you are well, and we are so glad that you are here, reading this little message. Thanks for sticking around. We’ll be back sooner next time!

Congratulations on the new calendars Marc & Kristen!
